Originally established to protect the swaynes hartebeest, the open acacia woodland of the park is quite scenic, and some of animals are fairly easily spotted.

Location: 340km south of Addis Abeba in Oromia and Southern Nations regional states.
Size: 54sqkm.

Hours: All day.
Entry: From Shashemene.

When to Go: From October to the end of November is the best.
Things to See and Do: See Swayne’s hartebeest, bohor reedbuck, greater kudu, spotted hyena, serval and civet cat, caracal, warthog, common jackal, and oribi antelope, as well as different species of birds.

Getting There: By road.
Where to Stay and Eat: In the nearby towns of Alaba, Shashemene, Hawassa, or Sodo.
